3️⃣ Reset the disposal
• Look underneath the disposal for a small red reset button.
• Press it firmly, then try again.
4️⃣ Manually free the motor
• Insert a hex/Allen wrench into the hole on the bottom of the disposal.
• Turn it back and forth until it spins freely.
• This clears internal jams even if it sounds like it’s running.
5️⃣ Test with ice
• Add a handful of ice cubes and run cold water.
• Ice helps knock debris off the grinding ring.
6️⃣ What NOT to do
• ❌ Don’t put your hand inside
• ❌ Don’t pour drain cleaner into the disposal
• ❌ Don’t force it if it hums but won’t turn (that means it’s jammed)
